I do not "hate" jazz. But I had to get your attention.🤪 I'll go one better and say: I actually "hate" EVERY genre. I see the risk of artist getting nailed down to one genre for their whole carreer. Colleges who work different often get the label "does not know what he wants".

I actually like the original idea of jazz very much. But even though I can understand the necessity of pigeonholing on the one hand, it gets on my nerves how first a label is stuck on somewhere and then the stuck object is criticised if it does not correspond to the "guidelines" of the category.

I hardly ever try to copy a style, because I have mine. And when it sounds similar to XY, then certain contemporaries say: "you didn't get that right". It looks like Pizza but it doesnt have tomato sauce on it so YOU FAILED! Yes, I know, that's how our brain and our world is organised.

And I am just like that, so I have to grumble about everything. Get used to it. Isn't that JAZZ, too? Hold on, let me just call Miles... Shit, that damned cool mothafogga is busy again.

Ich "hasse" Jazz nicht. Aber ich musste das Label ja hier drüber schreiben, um Deine Aufmerksamkeit zu bekommen. 🤪 Ich setze noch Einen drauf und sage: Ich "hasse" eigentlich JEDES Genre. Und das erlaube ich mir deswegen, weil ich hier zig verschiedene Stile präsentiere, während das Gros der Musiker sich ja zeitlebens EINEM Stil widmet, oder widmen MUSS, weil sonst gerurteilt wird dass der Künstler "nicht weiss, was er will!"
Ich mag den Ursprungs-Gedanken von Jazz eigentlich sogar sehr. Aber trotzdem ich die Notwendigkeit von Schubladisierungen einerseits nachvollziehen kann, geht mir auf den Sack, wie zuerst ein Label irgendwo drauf geklebt wird und das beklebte Objekt dann kritisiert wird, wenn es nicht den "Richtlinien" der Kategorie entspricht. Ich versuche eigentlich so gut wie nie, einen Stil zu kopieren, denn ich hab ja meinen. Und wenn der dann so ähnlich klingt wie XY, dann kommt von bestimmten Zeitgenossen: "das hast du aber nicht richtig hin gekriegt".
